Annotation: This article examines the theoretical and practical aspects of a competency-based approach to teaching Russian. Innovative methods, the use of open educational resources (OER), project-based learning, gamification, and digital technologies are highlighted. Particular attention is paid to the development of critical thinking, teacher training, and student motivation. This study contributes to the development of an effective pedagogical model for teaching Russian in the modern educational environment.
