Annotation: This article analyzes the use of synonyms in the Russian language, their linguistic meaning, role in the culture of speech and features of use in fiction. The article examines the classification of synonyms, their semantic and stylistic features, as well as the place of synonyms in the lexicology of the Russian language and the practical aspects of their use. Based on the results of the study, conclusions are presented on the significance of synonyms in the modern Russian language and ways of their correct use.
