Annotation: The article deals with the lexical and semantic features of idioms and proverbs, their origin and etymology. Their similarities and differences are also analyzed using examples of English idioms and proverbs. In addition, tips and tricks are provided on how to learn and distinguish them, since idioms and proverbs are an integral part of spoken English.
