Annotation: This article examines the theoretical and methodological bases of the use of innovative potential, and the author explains the terms "potential" and "innovative potential". The author offers scientific suggestions and recommendations on the process of a full and objective assessment of the innovative potential of an industrial enterprise, firstly, to determine the composition of key indicators that characterize it, and secondly, to measure the impact of factors influencing them.
