Annotation: The article reveals the features of organizing independent work of students in higher educational institutions, the importance of developing their creative abilities, and directing them to scientific work. Information is provided on the content, forms and methods of organizing students’ independent work. The role of independent work in deepening and expanding students' theoretical knowledge, skills in using specialized literature, and developing independent thinking is shown.
