Annotation: The article provides the discussion of different definitions and prevailed approaches of lexicography and some related areas. Some linguists regarded lexicography as an independent scholarly discipline while others regarded it as a sub-discipline of linguistics. And the article analyses some types of dictionary which are involved by lexicographers .
