Annotation: The article discusses ways to improve the reliability of magnetic insulation of locomotive traction motors by optimizing the distribution of electrical loads between the components of the insulating structure in the magnetic field system of a tortoise electric motor, increasing its strength and adapting the potential load. the levels of insulating layers and their functional purpose are presented, the research of foreign specialists on this subject and the results achieved, as well as the possibility of achieving success when applying these methods in domestic railway transport are shown.
