Annotation: To improve the quality of coal, it is enriched, the main purpose of research on coal enrichment is to increase the concentration of a useful component as a result of cleaning it from incombustible spent rocks, quartz minerals and harmful additives contained in it. The development of technology and technology of enrichment, as well as technical and economic indicators, the use of certain processes are determined by the qualitative characteristics of raw materials, existing trends. There are the following main methods of coal enrichment: gravity, flotation, magnetic, electric and special enrichment method. Each of these methods involves a number of processes based on common physical or physico-chemical properties by which the material is separated and differentiated. So, today in all industrialized countries, from 70 to 90% of all mined coal is enriched, in particular in Germany – 95%, Great Britain – 75%, the USA – 55%. However, the world leaders in coal enrichment are South Africa and Australia, where exported coal is 100% enriched.
