Annotation: The article discusses the need to use interlanguage translation as one of the means of teaching a foreign language lesson in secondary school. The authors focus on the urgent need for participants in the educational process to include elements of explanation in their native language and translation exercises in the learning process. When developing exercises focused on translation, it is necessary to take into account the parameters of the educational communicative situation created in the lesson.
