Annotation: This work examines the phenomenon of interlingual interference during Japanese language instruction for Russian-speaking students. Primary attention is given to the influence of Russian as a native language on the formation of lexical and grammatical errors in learners' Japanese speech. The main causes of interlingual interference are analyzed, including direct transfer of Russian language structures, calquing, and differences in linguistic systems. Special emphasis is placed on methodological approaches to identifying and overcoming interference during Japanese language instruction. The paper highlights the importance of a contrastive approach and the necessity of considering the linguistic features of the Russian language when teaching Japanese.
