UNDERSTANDING POLARIZATION IN SCATTERING MEDIA: INSIGHTS FROM MONTE CARLO SIMULATIONS

Author: Rozikov, J.; Akhmedova, Sh.; Kuchkarova, Sh.

Annotation: The polarization of radiation plays an important role in many fields, from astrophysics to remote sensing. In this study, we investigate the dependence of the degree of polarization on the number of scattering events in media using Monte Carlo simulations. We consider both single scattering and multiple scattering regimes and investigate how the degree of polarization changes as a function of the number of scattering events. Our results show that the degree of polarization can vary significantly with the number of scattering events and that multiple scattering events can lead to a decrease in the degree of polarization.
