Annotation: The use of complex sentences is a distinctive feature of book styles. In colloquial speech, especially in its oral form, we use mainly simple sentences, and very often incomplete ones (the absence of certain members is compensated for by facial expressions and gestures); Complex ones (mostly non-union ones) are used less often. This is explained by the fact that the content of statements usually does not require complex syntactic structures. The absence of conjunctions is compensated by intonation, which in oral speech acquires decisive importance for expressing various shades of semantic and syntactic relations.
