Annotation: This article analyzes the general issues of inheritance law, the composition of the estate, and the property, rights, and obligations associated with it. The author focuses on modern challenges in inheritance law, exploring approaches to new inheritance objects such as digital assets, online accounts, and cryptocurrency. The article also discusses the procedure for transferring a deceased person’s property and rights to heirs, the legal basis for inheritance, and the relevant provisions of current legislation. Additionally, the article examines international experience and practices in inheritance law in foreign countries. The main problems encountered in notarial practice, possible solutions, and proposals for improving inheritance law are also presented. The article considers legal gaps in recognizing digital assets as inheritance objects and explores mechanisms for their regulation.
