Annotation: The effect of the amount of oleum in the composition of the nitrating agent used in the nitration reaction by dubamine on quinoline alkaloids was studied, a nitro product was obtained with a high yield, and aminodubamine was synthesized by its reduction of SnCl2.2H2O. The reaction of the latter product with aldehydes was carried out in ethanol solution and the synthesized Schiff base was reduced to NaBH4, as a result, 2-(4,5-methylenedioxy-2-(N-2-nitrobenzylamino)phenyl)quinoline was obtained with a yield of 87%. When using POCl3 in the synthesis of quinoline amides, compounds 2-(4,5-methylenedioxy-2-(N-ethanamido)phenyl)quinoline and 2-(4,5-methylenedioxy-2-(N-monochloroethanamido)phenyl)quinoline were isolated with yields of 65 and 75%, respectively.
