XITOY VA MARKAZIY OSIYO DAVLATLARI SAVDO ALOQALARI

Author: Karimova, Xulkar Raxmanali qizi

Annotation: This article analyzes the evolution of trade and economic relations between China and Central Asia over the past three decades. It examines three major phases: post-independence engagement, SCO-supported integration, and infrastructure expansion under the Belt and Road Initiative. Chinese investments in energy, transport, and logistics have significantly increased regional trade volumes and connectivity. However, this growth has also intensified structural imbalances, debt dependence, and institutional vulnerabilities across Central Asian economies. The study highlights the asymmetric nature of trade, rising exposure to Chinese demand, and the risks associated with opaque financing mechanisms. Environmental and geopolitical implications are also addressed. The article concludes that Uzbekistan must pursue a balanced strategy focused on transparency, economic diversification, and sustainable development to ensure that cooperation with China strengthens long-term national resilience.

Keywords: China–Central Asia trade, One Belt, One Road Initiative, infrastructure investment, trade imbalance, sustainable development.
