Annotation: This article examines the psychological aspects of the process of teaching a foreign language to adult students. The article emphasizes the importance of the methods of applying psychological theories in teaching foreign languages, the professional language competence of the teacher, the factors of taking into account the subject and individual characteristics of students, especially the motivation of learning foreign languages in adults. The main parts of pedagogical psychology are defined, the importance of pedagogical psychology in the teaching process and the role of foreign language acquisition are shown, the main stages of organizing the work of each teacher are analyzed.
