Annotation: This article explores the key directions and conceptual and legal foundations of the modernization of the higher education system in New Uzbekistan. It highlights the role of ongoing reforms in improving the quality of education, advancing research activities, and training competitive specialists who meet the demands of the modern labor market. Particular attention is given to granting academic and financial autonomy to higher education institutions, the implementation of the credit-modular system, the widespread use of digital educational technologies, and the development of international cooperation and academic mobility. The article also analyzes the impact of these reforms on the country’s socio-economic development.
