Annotation: The article deals with the problem of studying the topic of the little man from the point of view of the anthroponymic characteristics of the heroes. Work was carried out to study the transformation of this image in Russian prose of the 19-20 century, and new character traits were also identified in the works of V. Pelevin and I. Abuzyarov. In addition, the authors of the article tried to show the change in the structure of the image of the little man by studying his name and surname. The material for the study was the work of N.V. Gogol, F.M. Dostoevsky, A. Platonov, V. Pelevin, I. Abuzyarov.
