Annotation: The article is dedicated to the exploration of the genesis of the formation and contemporary trends in the development of the personal data institute, taking into account the national legal aspect. The paper examines key stages in the evolution of legal regulation of personal data, starting from their initial introduction into legislation up to the present time. Special attention is given to national peculiarities and trends in the development of legislation on personal data, elucidating the influence of technological progress, international standards, and public expectations on the formation of the legislative framework.
